Mist in the Meadow
Baby Aaru woke up. The sun wasn’t up yet. Everything was gray and soft. The grass was wet. It felt like a fuzzy blanket. Aaru giggled. “Babu, look!” she said. Babu, a little blue bird, blinked. He sat on a tall blade of grass. The mist tickled his tiny feet. He chirped softly. The air smelled like sleepy flowers. Aaru reached out and touched a dewy leaf. She smiled. It shimmered like a jewel. Babu hopped onto Aaru’s tiny finger. They looked at the misty meadow together. Everything was quiet and peaceful. Aaru and Babu loved the misty morning.
Sunshine Surprise
Suddenly, the mist started to disappear. The sun peeked over the tall trees. It was bright and warm! Aaru clapped her hands. “Sunshine!” she shouted. Babu fluttered his wings excitedly. The meadow turned green. The flowers opened their petals. They were red, yellow, and blue. Aaru pointed at a big red flower. “Pretty!” she said. Babu chirped and flew closer. He pretended to sniff the flower. Aaru laughed. The sun warmed her face. She felt happy and cozy. Babu landed on her head. They soaked up the sunshine together. It was a sunny surprise!
Raindrop Race
Big, fat raindrops started to fall. Plink, plink, plink! Aaru looked up. “Rain!” she said. Babu hid under a big leaf. The raindrops bounced on the grass. Some landed on Aaru’s nose. She giggled. “Cold!” she said. The rain came down harder. Aaru and Babu watched the raindrops race down the leaves. Which raindrop would win? It was a fun game. Aaru reached her hand out. She tried to catch a raindrop. It slipped through her fingers. Babu chirped from under the leaf. He shook his little head. The rain was a fun surprise, too! Aaru started to dance in the rain, splashing in small puddles. Babu peeked out, chirping encouragingly at Aaru's playful dance, happy despite the wetness.
Muddy Puddle Fun
The rain stopped. Now there were muddy puddles. Aaru loved puddles! She stomped her feet in the puddle. Splish, splash! Muddy water went everywhere. Babu flew down. He hopped around the edge of the puddle. “Come play, Babu!” Aaru said. Babu tilted his head. He didn’t like the mud too much. But he wanted to be with Aaru. He hopped a little closer. Uh oh! He slipped and landed in the mud. He was covered in brown goo. Aaru laughed and picked him up carefully. Babu was so muddy! Aaru carefully wiped Babu with a soft leaf to clean him from mud.
Sharing Berries
Aaru’s tummy rumbled. She was hungry. She saw some bright red berries on a bush. “Berries!” she said happily. She picked a handful of berries. Some were big, and some were small. She ate one. It was sweet and juicy! “Yummy!” she said. She held out her hand to Babu. “Want a berry, Babu?” she asked. Babu chirped and hopped onto her hand. He pecked at a small berry. He ate it quickly. He chirped again. He wanted more! Aaru smiled and gave him another berry. They shared the berries. It was more fun to eat together. Sharing made the berries taste even better. Aaru and Babu ate all the berries until their tummies were very full. They were happy and contented, sitting under the warm sunlight.
Naptime for Friends
Aaru felt sleepy. The sun had warmed her up. Her tummy was full of berries. She yawned a big yawn. She found a soft patch of grass under a tree. “Naptime, Babu,” she said. Babu chirped and snuggled close to Aaru. He tucked his head under his wing. Aaru closed her eyes. She listened to the buzzing of the bees. It was a gentle, sleepy sound. She felt Babu’s soft feathers against her cheek. She smiled. She felt safe and loved. Aaru and Babu slept together. They were best friends. Even in their sleep, they were together. They would wake up and play again soon, but for now, all they needed was each other and a peaceful nap in the warm meadow. The wind gently rustled the leaves, creating a soothing lullaby for the sleeping friends.
