Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a kind-hearted little hen named Rosie. She was the smallest hen in the flock but had the biggest heart.
One sunny morning, as Rosie was pecking for grains in the meadow, she heard a rustling in the bushes. Out came a sly fox, its eyes glinting with hunger. Rosie's heart raced, but she didn't lose her composure.
"Good morning, Mr. Fox," she chirped cheerfully. "What brings you to this part of the meadow today?"
The fox grinned wickedly, revealing sharp teeth. "I'm here for breakfast, little hen," he growled.
Thinking quickly, Rosie said with a smile, "Why don't we play a game before breakfast? I'll hide three eggs, and if you can find them, you can have one for breakfast." The fox agreed, thinking it would be an easy catch.
Rosie hid the eggs cleverly, and the fox began his search. Meanwhile, she hurried to her friends, the wise old owl and the chatty squirrel, seeking their help. Together, they devised a plan to outsmart the fox.
When the fox returned with two eggs, Rosie pretended to be disappointed. "Oh dear! You missed one!" she exclaimed. "It's hidden in the hollow tree by the pond!"
The fox eagerly rushed to find the last egg, but to his surprise, he found himself face to face with the wise old owl and the chatty squirrel. Startled, he stumbled back into the pond with a splash!
Rosie and her friends burst into giggles as the sly fox slunk away wet and defeated. From that day on, Rosie's bravery and quick thinking made her a legend in the meadow, and her friends were ever grateful for her kind heart and cleverness.
