Gus the gigantic goose lived on Farmer Giles' farm. The farm had a big green barn and a gray gate. Gus loved carrots. One day, all the carrots disappeared! Farmer Giles was sad. "My prize-winning carrots!" he cried. Gus felt bad. He decided to help. First, he looked near the barn. Nothing. Then, he checked by the gray gate. Still nothing! He waddled to the chicken coop. Henrietta the hen clucked, "I saw a big shadow near the river!" Gus ran to the river. There, near the willow tree, he saw a badger munching on carrots! Gus honked loudly. The badger dropped the carrots, startled. Farmer Giles found his carrots. Gus got a big juicy carrot as a reward. He was happy. Everyone was happy.
