Mia the Nice, a little girl with bright eyes and a sunny smile, was skipping home with her grandfather. Her grandfather, a kind old man with a long white beard, held her hand. They walked through a meadow filled with sunflowers taller than Mia. Suddenly, a little blue bird landed on Mia's shoulder. "Chirp, chirp! Lost your ribbon?" it chirped. Mia gasped; she had lost her favorite blue ribbon!
Mia and her grandfather searched high and low. They looked behind the sunflowers. They peeked under large mushrooms. Still no ribbon! Pete and Max from the school, who were playing nearby, offered to help. Pete used his magnifying glass to search carefully. Max, who was good at climbing, searched atop a big rock. Nothing. Mia felt tears welling up.
The little blue bird chirped again. "Follow me!" it tweeted, fluttering towards a sparkling stream. They followed the bird, watching as it flitted around some tall reeds. There it was! Mia's blue ribbon was caught on a twig.
Mia was overjoyed! She thanked the little bird by sharing a piece of her sunflower seed cookie. Pete and Max cheered, happy to have helped. Her grandfather hugged her tightly. As the sun set, painting the meadow in warm hues, Mia skipped home, her blue ribbon safely tied to her hair, knowing that even losing things can lead to magical adventures with helpful friends and a cheerful bird.
