Welcome to Sparklewood Park!
It was a sunny morning in Sparklewood Park. Giggles, a small girl with bright red pigtails and a sparkly green dress, was swinging high. She loved to laugh! Zippy, a boy with a blue cap and swift red sneakers, zoomed past on his scooter. He pointed to a large, sandy area full of big, bumpy shapes. 'Look, Giggles! What are those?' he asked, skidding to a stop. Giggles hopped off the swing, her laughter bubbling. 'They look like giant sleepy rocks!' she exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder. Spark the Good, a kind older boy with clever glasses and a friendly smile, walked towards them. He carried a small book with pictures of amazing creatures. 'Hello, friends!' Spark said warmly. 'Those aren't just rocks! They are something even more exciting.'
Uncovering the Big Bones
Spark opened his book to a colorful page. 'These are dinosaur bones! Thousands and thousands of years ago, huge animals called dinosaurs lived on Earth.' Zippy's eyes grew round. 'Dinosaurs! Wow! Can we find more bones?' he asked excitedly. Giggles clapped her hands. 'Yes, yes! Let's be bone detectives!' Spark smiled. He showed them a little brush and a small shovel. 'We need to be very gentle, like real paleontologists, to find them.' He demonstrated how to carefully brush away the sand from one of the bumpy shapes. 'See? We use the brush to sweep away the sand, just like cleaning a picture.' Zippy took the shovel and gently began to scoop sand. Giggles used her fingers to carefully feel around the edges of another big shape. They were working together, one brush stroke and one scoop at a time, to uncover the mystery.
A Giant Head Appears!
Zippy carefully brushed away more sand. 'Spark, look! This one is round and big!' he exclaimed. Giggles giggled, 'It looks like a giant, sleepy face!' Spark crouched down. 'You two are doing great! This looks like part of a dinosaur's head!' he said, pointing to a large, rounded shape. 'Some dinosaurs had very big heads, like the Triceratops with three horns!' Zippy remembered the picture in Spark's book. He used his little shovel to clear a bit more sand around the 'horns'. Giggles found a 'tooth' shape! With careful movements and lots of teamwork, they slowly uncovered the full plaster skull. It was bigger than both of their heads! They cheered loudly, proud of their amazing discovery. The sand was flying a little, but their smiles were even bigger.
