A Garden of Whispers and Woes
Prince Oliver, a boy with a bright smile and wearing a simple tunic with a golden heart emblem, tiptoed through the enchanted castle garden. Crystal fountains gurgled cheerful tunes, and glowing mushrooms pulsed with soft light. He traced a finger along the mossy base of an ancient stone statue of a forgotten king. His wooden flute, usually a source of cheerful melodies, felt silent in his hand. He had heard whispers of a magnificent garden beyond the palace walls, guarded by a creature so grand, yet rumor said it was terribly lonely. He peeked between two towering lavender bushes. There, nestled amongst the vibrant blooms, was a vast, cozy nest made of soft blankets. A large, scaly blue dragon with sparkling wings, Ember, sighed a puff of warm air that gently rustled the petals of a nearby rose. Ember meticulously adjusted a bright yellow daisy with a claw as big as Oliver's hand. The dragon's sparkling wings drooped slightly, making Oliver wonder what could make such a majestic creature feel so low. He knew he had to gather his courage and discover why such a gentle guardian looked so sad.
A Harmony of Hiccups and Hums
Oliver bravely stepped out from behind the bushes, his heart doing a little jig. Ember the dragon’s head, studded with sparkling scales, turned slowly, its large, gentle eyes widening. Oliver waved cautiously. "Hello, Ember!" he squeaked, his voice a tiny chirp against the grand scale of the garden. Ember blinked, a cloud of warm, earthy scent puffing from its nostrils. The dragon then let out a rumble that sounded like a sleepy bumblebee, and a tiny, pink hiccup escaped its snout. It was so unexpected that Oliver almost giggled. He remembered his flute and slowly brought it to his lips, playing a soft, simple melody. The notes danced through the air, twirling around the glowing mushrooms. Ember’s head tilted, its ears twitching with curiosity. The dragon then let out a low, humming sound that vibrated through the ground, a deep, melodic purr that matched the gentle tune of Oliver's flute. The prince smiled, realizing that music might be the perfect way to bridge the gap between a boy and a dragon, but he knew he needed a little magic of his own to truly make Ember feel less lonely.
