Lost in Green
Leo, a small boy with bright eyes and a red hat, skipped deep into the rustling green forest. He was looking for shiny pebbles! The trees grew taller and taller around him, making tiny shadows dance. He giggled, but then he looked around. "Uh oh," he whispered. He didn't see his picnic blanket anywhere.
The Whispering Wind
Leo tugged his red hat. He shouted, "Hello!" but only the trees echoed back. A little bird, named Chirp, fluttered down nearby. Leo pointed to a big, twisty vine. "Maybe I can climb up high like you?" He grabbed the vine and pulled. It wobbled, but didn't feel strong enough.
Higher Ground!
Chirp tweet-tweeted, flying up to a huge, smooth rock. Leo looked! It was like a giant green mushroom. "Good idea, Chirp!" Leo scampered over. He pulled himself up, using both hands. From the top, he could see bright colors far away. "Aha!" he grinned, pointing.
Home Sweet Blanket
The bright colors were his mom's red and yellow picnic blanket! Leo hopped down from the rock. He followed Chirp, stepping carefully over roots. Soon, he heard his mom calling, "Leo!" He ran out of the trees, straight into a big, warm hug. "I found shiny pebbles!" he said, holding one out.
