Annie the ant was a tiny but adventurous ant. She wore a bright red dress and a pair of even brighter yellow boots. One sunny afternoon, Annie awoke to the aroma of apples.
"Apples!" she exclaimed, her antennae twitching with excitement. Annie loved apples! She scurried out of her anthill, her six little legs moving quickly. Along the way, she saw an alligator, an aardvark, and even an airplane flying high above!
She reached a big apple tree. It was full of ripe, red apples. "Amazing!" Annie whispered. But the apples were high up. Annie was small.
First, she tried climbing the tree. She climbed and climbed, but she was too tiny. She slipped and slid down. Next, she tried using a long blade of grass as a ladder. It bent and broke. Annie sighed, her tiny shoulders drooping.
Then, she spotted a friendly aardvark. He was munching on some tasty ants' favorite acacia leaves. "Excuse me, Mr. Aardvark," Annie asked politely. "Could you help me get an apple?"
The aardvark, whose name was Arthur, chuckled. "An apple for a tiny ant? Of course!" Arthur used his long snout to gently knock an apple down from a low branch. It landed with a soft thud near Annie.
Annie carefully picked up the apple. It was big and juicy! "Thank you, Arthur!" she chirped, taking a tiny bite. It was absolutely amazing! Annie shared a small piece with Arthur. They both agreed it was the best apple adventure ever. That night, Annie dreamt of apples and aardvarks and all things that start with A!
