The Disappearing Blanket Shield

Nina loved sleep time! Her room was cozy for bed. She had a special blanket. It was a big, soft shield. The blanket kept bad dreams away. One night, the blanket was gone! Nina looked everywhere. Under the bed, nothing. In the closet, still no blanket. A little bunny hopped onto her bed. It was Agent Fluff. He had suction cup feet! He looked worried. "The blanket shield is gone, Nina!" he said. "Shadowpaws took it!"
Into the Dream Drop Zone

Nina put on her night-vision glasses. They were old sunglasses. Agent Fluff held her hand. They jumped off the bed. It was like falling into clouds! They landed on some bedsheets. The bedsheets were like bouncy castles. Agent Fluff pointed. "That's the Dream Drop Zone!" he said. Nina saw floating pillows. There were soft, glowing stars everywhere. But there were also dark shadows. The shadows looked scary. Agent Fluff wiggled his nose. "Shadowpaws is hiding somewhere here! We must get the blanket back!"
The Search for Shadowpaws

Nina and Agent Fluff tiptoed carefully. They saw a big mountain. The mountain was made of plush toys. Agent Fluff whispered, "Shadowpaws likes plush toys!" They climbed the plush mountain. It was soft and bumpy. At the top, they saw Shadowpaws. He was a stuffed panther. He had glowing red eyes. He was wrapped in Nina's blanket! "Give back the blanket!" Nina said bravely. Shadowpaws growled. "Never! This blanket is mine now! I will use it to make everyone have bad dreams!"
A Happy Dream Ending

Nina thought hard. She remembered Shadowpaws used to be nice. She said, "Shadowpaws, you used to be friendly! Why are you being mean?" Shadowpaws looked sad. "I felt lonely," he mumbled. "No one played with me anymore." Nina smiled. "We can play with you! I have lots of toys. We can all play together!" Agent Fluff nodded. He bounced happily. Shadowpaws thought for a moment. Then, he unwrapped himself from the blanket. He gave it back to Nina. "Okay," he said softly. "I want to play too." Nina hugged Shadowpaws. Then, she wrapped herself in her blanket. The Dream Drop Zone became brighter and sunnier. All the shadows disappeared. Nina, Agent Fluff, and Shadowpaws started to play. They had the best dream of all! When Nina woke up, her blanket was right there. She felt happy and safe. She even gave Shadowpaws an extra big hug.
