A Snoring Surprise
Deep in the jungle thicket, a tiny brown mouse, named Squeaky, tiptoed. He saw a big, shaggy-maned lion. The lion was caught in a net of rope! Zzzzzz, went the lion, snoring very loud. "Oh dear!" squeaked Squeaky. How could he help this sleepy, caught king?
A Nibble Nudge
Squeaky looked at the thick ropes. He took a deep breath. "Nibble, nibble, chomp!" he squeaked. He tried to chew one rope. It was very tough! His little teeth worked hard. The lion just snored louder, ZZZZZZZZ! Squeaky giggled. He needed a better plan.
Chomp, Chomp, Free!
Squeaky found the thinnest rope he could. "This one!" he thought. Chomp, chomp, chomp! went his strong mouse teeth. He chewed and chewed. A little piece of rope fell down. Then another! The net wiggled. The lion's tail gave a drowsy flick.
A Roaring Thank You
Thump! went the net as it fell open. The lion stretched, gave a giant yawn, and slowly opened his eyes. He saw the tiny mouse. "ROAR!" he rumbled, but it was a happy rumble. Squeaky giggled. The lion bowed his big head low. "Thank you, little friend," he whispered. Squeaky felt very proud.
